Mineral replacement resulted in the myriad of colors which make Tiger's-Eye so treasured, with white Quartz, yellow Goethite, red/black Hematite, blue Riebeckite ("Crocidolite") and various combinations of these minerals resulting in the brilliant golden yellow, deep red and rich green colors so characteristic of the Marra Mamba material found only in Western Australia. This massive sphere, measuring 10 inches (25 cm) in diameter, features some of the most beautiful Tiger's-Eye ever seen. The piece features a strong green coloration over about two-thirds of the piece contrasted with an explosive spray of red and gold on the other one-third of the sphere. A chatoyant band of gold runs through the vast green area providing a colorful transition. The chatoyant reflection makes the Tiger's-Eye truly come alive.
