The Marra Mamba deposit in central Western Australia, more than 1,000 kilometers northeast of Perth, is celebrated for producing one of the most visually striking varieties of Tiger's-Eye known. Formed over millions of years, hydrothermal waters rich in Silica and Iron transformed the region's ancient banded iron formations into a rare combination of Hematite, Jasper, and Tiger's-Eye, whose alternating layers record both geological history and remarkable natural beauty. This large and exceptionally fine sphere showcases the defining features of the material-golden chatoyant Tiger's-Eye interlayered with deep red Jasper. The graceful curvature of the bands reflects the immense pressures and complex metamorphic processes that shaped the stone over geologic time. With the Marra Mamba source now exhausted, examples of this size and quality have become extraordinarily scarce. The sphere's impressive 11-inch (28 cm) diameter makes it a museum-scale specimen, and its flawless polish demonstrates the exceptional skill required to shape a material of such variable hardness.
