Description

RUBY MACAW COUPLE ON RED TOURMALINE BASE
    Artist: Peter Müller
Stone Source: Tanzania, Brazil & Worldwide

Caught mid-conversation, these Macaws have stopped talking to look at the observer. Macaws are monogamous and mate for life, so this couple is probably talking about the kids. The Macaws bright Ruby coloration is strongly complimented by the matching red of the Tourmaline crystal. Carved out of Ruby with a smaller proportion of green Zoisite, the Macaws are resting on a Tourmaline and Quartz specimen from the Maravilla Mine of Brazil. The chatty pair of Macaws have bright Garnet eyes and beaks, and have gold plated sterling silver feet. Overall height of the sculpture is 13¾ inches, including the acrylic base. One Macaw is 11 inches from head to tail, while the other is 10 inches tall with a 7 inch wide wingspan. This pairing of colors between the carving and the mineral specimens marks the artistry of master lapidary Peter Müller and bears his unique collection #8961.
