Description

Marra Mamba Tiger's-Eye Sculpture
Brockman Tiger eye mine (Marra Mamba), Mount Brockman
Ashburton Shire, Western Australia
Australia

Carved from a single solid block of rare Marra Mamba Tiger's-Eye-one of the most visually dynamic and compositionally complex varieties of the species-this dramatic free-form sculpture displays an elegant, concave triangular silhouette. Each tapering face reveals a kaleidoscope of vivid, earthy banding formed by layers of Jasper, Hematite, and classic chatoyant Tiger's-Eye. Interspersed within the matrix are shimmering zones of mixed Silica in shades of deep blue, along with golden Goethite, which together produce warm olive green tonalities unique to this locality. Notably more difficult to polish than the related Tiger Iron, Marra Mamba is prized for its complexity, color, and rarity. The sculpture is accompanied by a custom-fitted wooden swivel base.
Tiger's-Eye Measurements: 19.25 x 13.50 x 7.00 inches (48.90 x 34.29 x 17.78 cm)

Provenance: Property of a Distinguished Southern California Collector
