Large & Impressive Amethyst & Rose Quartz Macaws on Tourmaline & Albite Base
    Artist: Peter Müller
    Stone Source: Brazil

This pair of imposing birds is hard to miss. They were each methodically sculpted from larger natural Amethyst rough into morphologically accurate Macaws by artist Peter Müller. The larger of the two measures 20.5 inches (52 cm) long with an extraordinary wingspan of 13 inches (33 cm). He has most likely spotted dinner with his Garnet eyes and is about to take flight. His mate measures a slighter 18.5 x 4.7 inches (47 x 12 cm). Their archetypal long tails were carved out of Rose Quartz and Amethyst with cross-hatching for spectacular detail. Each bird has an attractive Carnelian curved beak. They are both perched, with gold plated sterling silver talons, upon an incredibly large natural base of snow-white Albite with large, contrasting black Tourmaline crystal inclusions. The entire sculpture is then fitted into a custom Lucite base. Macaws are sadly now endangered in the wild, however, this sculpture is a way to encapsulate them in time.
    Measurements: 16.1 x 9.8 x 29.9 inches (41.0 x 25.0 x 76.0 cm)

    Estimate: $25,000 - $35,000.
