    Lapis "Queen Bee" Clutch
    Artist: Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio
    Stone source: Afghanistan

This fanciful clutch purse has been rendered in rich blue Lapis Lazuli. The pièce de résistance is the Lapis "Queen Bee" that adorns the top of the bag: she has Diamond eyes, a gold crown, and has been caught in flight. The entire clutch has vermeil fittings that create the illusion of honeycomb. If you pivot the "Queen Bee," she helps unlock the purse by loosening the magnetically held clasp - quite clever actually. Inside there are chain "stops" to prevent the purse from opening too far. The artistry of master lapidary Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio is on full view with this creation. It is in pristine condition and would be quite a showstopper for an evening gala.
    Overall Measurements: 7.8 x 5.7 x 2.4 inches (19.8 x 14.5 x 6.0 cm)
