    Description

    Labradorite Skull Statue: "Cavalier"
    Artist: Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio
    Stone source: Madagascar

A supporter of King Charles I, in the English Civil War? Nope, the top hat is wrong. Haughty, disdainful, or supercilious? I think we've found our boy. Close cousin to the "Gentleskull," who spends his time sniffing a scented handkerchief tucked into his sleeve; the Cavalier is more of a swashbuckler, a rake, perhaps a chevalier d'industrie, as our friends across the channel would put it. In keeping with his shifting allegiances and appearances, our Cavalier is fashioned from Labradorite: a gem material that presents an ever-shifting play of colors that camouflage his less than honorable intentions. Up close and personal, his top hat is faintly banded, in colors of black and gray: an indication that it is crafted from Obsidian. His hatband is decorated by a group of golden skulls on crossed bones. His haughty pose is supported by a bony neck of gold vertebrae, rising from a polished oval of Labradorite, bearing a circlet of skulls also rendered in vermeil. Keep your hand on your wallet when he's around.
    Overall Measurements: 13.0 x 8.7 x 5.9 inches (33 x 22 x 15 cm)

Provenance: The Faces of Eternity Skull Collection
