Description

    Kingfisher Carving on Tourmaline
    Artist: Peter Müller
    Stone Source: Brazil & Worldwide

This active hunting scene has captured a Lapis Kingfisher right after diving down and swooping up a clear Quartz fish in its Obsidian mouth. The gold-plated sterling silver talons are ready to grip its bi-colored Tourmaline on Quartz base. The snowy white Quartz matrix houses three significant pink and green Tourmaline crystals from Brazil. The largest crystal measures 4.52 inches (11.5 cm), and the entire matrix is affixed permanently to a custom acrylic base. The body of the Kingfisher has been painstakingly carved out of a myriad of minerals. The head, back and wings are carved out of precious Afghanistan Lapis lazuli. The underside of the wings, breast and cheeks are a peachy Eosite from Africa, which is highlighted by the pink in the Tourmaline crystals. The throat is made out of white opalized Agate from Brazil. The piercing red eyes have been crafted from Brazilian Garnet. The Kingfisher has an impressive wingspan of 9.25 inches (23.5 cm) in this dramatic hunting scene. Artist Peter Müller's carving is in excellent condition and would be the perfect addition to any room.
    Overall Measurements: 9.06 x 9.25 x 14.37 inches (23.00 x 23.50 x 36.5 cm)
