This striking decorative bowl has been carved from a large section of banded Chinese Fluorite, displaying the mineral's characteristic natural cubic habit. The elongated, organic form is dominated by a calming bluish-green hue, with a distinct patch of alternating purple and blue banding. Veins of white Quartz matrix are also visible, adding visual contrast and geological interest. The elongated form, measuring a notable nearly 20 inches (50.8 cm) in length, has been gracefully sculpted with flowing edges and an organic shape. The bowl's slender profile and even polish allow light to pass through the semi-transparent material, giving the piece a gentle internal glow. The layered coloration and natural banding create a dynamic visual effect across the surface, making the object equally compelling from multiple viewing angles. Such Fluorite carvings from China are widely admired for their artistic craftsmanship and use of richly colored material. This example remains in overall very good condition; however, due to the mineral's relatively soft nature, a few minor nicks are present along the rim. Large, yet elegant in form, the piece functions beautifully as a decorative object d'art, ideal as a centerpiece or catch-all vessel where its luminous colors, fluorescent habit under ultraviolet light, and natural patterns can be fully appreciated.
