AMAZONITE PARROT COUPLE on ALBITE BASE
    Artist: Peter Müller
Stone Source: Brazil, South Africa & Worldwide

These two colorful Parrots seem to be in mid conversation while relaxing on their sparkling Albite base. The female on the right listens to her male counterpart with intensity. She has a deep blue Lapis crown and is blushing with her bright pink Rhodochrosite cheeks. Her love struck eyes are made of Garnet surrounded by Agate. Her bill is made of Chalcedony, and her wing feathers are finished off with an additional touch of Lapis. She measures 8.25 inches (20.95 cm) in height and 2.75 (6.98 cm) wide. Her loving male counterpart has differing characteristics to attract her - namely, a patch of Agate on top of his crown, blue Lapis eye patches and purple Sugilite cheeks. In addition, he has accents of Rhodochrosite and electric blue Lapis on his tail feathers. He features a strong curved Chalcedony bill and is slightly larger than his mate measuring 8.25 x 3 inches (20.95 x 7.61 cm). They both rest peacefully on a piece of Albite dusted with Schorl Tourmaline and Quartz, perched on their gold plated sterling silver feet. The sculpture is complimented with a custom blackstone plinth. Master lapidarist Peter Müller has created a loving scene between these two "love birds."
    Overall Measurements: 14.0 x 9.5 x 14.0 inches (35.56 x 24.13 x 35.56 cm)

    Estimate: $12,000 - $16,000.

It would indeed have been much simpler to work with a local auction house, and we had local options. But we never once regretted going with Heritage.
