Description

Agate Goose Carving
Artist: Gerd Dreher
Idar-Oberstein, Germany

Carved from a single specimen of finely banded Brazilian Agate, this exquisite goose sculpture is a testament to the renowned skill of master lapidary artist Gerd Dreher. The natural banding is artfully oriented to follow the contours of the bird's form, with exceptional translucency at the neck lending a lifelike softness to the composition. The goose's eyes are set with small cabochon Sapphires, each delicately rimmed in 18K Yellow Gold. The feet, finely detailed and cast in solid 18K Yellow Gold, exhibit remarkable anatomical precision and craftsmanship. Both the feet and body bear the engraved monogram "GD," authenticating the work as an original piece by Gerd Dreher-whose name is synonymous with the highest standards of gemstone animal carving.
Measurements: 5.62 x 4.00 x 2.00 inches (14.27 x 10.16 x 5.08 cm)

Provenance: Property of a Distinguished Southern California Collector
