Description"Wild Horse" Stone
This handcrafted sculpture has been cut and polished out of a relatively "new" stone. "Wild Horse" Stone was not discovered until the mid-1990s near Copper mines in southern Arizona. It is also known as "Crazy Horse" Stone, but its geological name is Magnesite - a mixture of Magnesite and Hematite. It is traditionally used in Native American jewelry-making. The stone is a beautiful mix of swirling dark wine reds, mauves, light grays, plums, and dark and light browns contrasted by stark white circles of Magnesite. The combinations of patterns and colors can be rather chaotic, as the name "Crazy Horse" implies. This is a very popular semi-precious gemstone with mass appeal, making this "Appaloosa Stone" all the more coveted. This ornate piece is in excellent condition.
