"Gem" Dinosaur Bone
    Jurassic, Morrison Formation
    Utah, USA

Dinosaur Bone is pretty cool no matter what the form or variety. Even pieces or chunks can have a certain appeal - especially since the first fossil many of us were likely to have ever received was a piece of rough Dinosaur Bone. When bone fossilizes and Agate replaces the original bone material, the result can be beautiful and colorful "gem" Dinosaur Bone. An appealing and highly collectible material, "gem" bone (as it is referred to in the trade) can be cut and polished into amazing specimens, especially when the color gets literally "out of control." This is the case with this incredible thin slab of absolutely gemmy red Dinosaur Bone. This amazing slab measures a whopping 11 inches (27.9 cm) and exhibits great preservation of the vascular structure, of the once living bone. Polished on both sides, which is not a common occurrence with slabs of most any material, this slab is equally attractive when viewed from either side. This is the highest quality of "gem" Dinosaur Bone, and, a rather large example of the coveted material.
    Overall Measurements: 11.1 x 9.0 x 0.3 inches (28.3 x 22.9 x 0.6 cm)
    Offered at no reserve.
