This splendid decorative mineral box is masterfully hewn from rare Shattuckite, an uncommon Copper-based mineral prized for its striking coloration and rarity. The exterior showcases a breathtaking palette of electric sea-blue Shattuckite, beautifully interwoven with veins and patches of deep red-brown Cuprite, and vibrant green Malachite, along pockets of neutral Quartz, creating a mesmerizing interplay of color and contrast. Each section of this exquisite stone has been carefully cut, polished, and book-matched, ensuring seamless continuity in its design. The interior is elegantly lined with precision-cut Spanish Cedar, which has been meticulously inlaid to allow for removal at the owner's discretion, revealing a striking solid black stone interior beneath. The lid is finished with two Gold-plated brass hinges, adding a refined touch of luxury to the piece. The base is crafted from black Diabase (Dolerite), a stone known for its natural glistening effect, as embedded flecks of glass catch and reflect light. The bottom is further fitted with felt feet, ensuring stability and surface protection.
