Description
LARGE "SPAGHETTI" BOXHandcrafted in Italy
Stone source: Worldwide
This striking tessellated box has been crafted by a master Italian lapidary whose skill is such that there are virtually no gaps in the inlay work. It has earned the name "spaghetti" because it resembles pieces of spaghetti that have been pieced together to form a solid pattern. A riot of color has been created by a vast array of stones from around the world: Amazonite from Russia, Rhodochrosite from Argentina, Malachite from Congo, Blue Chalcedony from Namibia, Picture Jasper from Utah, Fossil Stromatolite from Bolivia, Lapis from Afghanistan, Amethyst from Brazil, Tiger-Eye from South Africa, Sodalite from Namibia, Aventurine from India, Labradorite from Madagascar, and Tiger-Iron from Australia, as well as numerous world-wide Jaspers, Onyx, Granites and Rhyolites. In excellent condition, this sizable box measures 4 5/8 x 7 7/8 inches (20 x 12 cm), has gold plated brass furniture and a Black Onyx interior.
