    Description

FOSSILIZED DINOSAUR BONE and PETRIFIED WOOD BOX
    Stone Source: Utah & Arizona
    Artist: Konstantin Libman

Both agatized "gem" Dinosaur Bone from Utah and "rainbow" Petrified Wood from Arizona date to the Mesozoic Era, so it only makes sense that master lapidarist Konstantin Libman would marry these two colorful fossils from the Age of Dinosaurs. The 150 million year old Jurassic "gem bone" features rich purples, golds and greens where minerals replaced the original bone, but the intricate trabecular bone structure remains. The sides of Petrified Wood mirrors these same colors in its own banding pattern - making it a fine accompaniment to the Dinosaur Bone top. The artist has created a "butterfly" effect by splitting a premium piece of Dinosaur Bone and making the mirrored halves into the box lid. All four sides of the box are composed of colorful Petrified Wood which has been meticulously matched between the lid and the box itself. The inner box is lined with cedar and is fitted with custom brass furnishings. This piece is in excellent condition and is accompanied by a custom wood and velvet lined presentation case. This singular piece features the artist's unique serial number 0476 on the bottom.
    Overall Measurements: 5.79 x 5.69 x 2.38 inches (14.7 x 14.44 x 6.03 cm)
