Chrysocolla & Malachite Box
Stone Source: Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre)

This large rectangular box features popular "bull's-eye" Malachite with "rivers" of turquoise Chrysocolla. Chrysocolla and Malachite are often found together due to both being secondary Copper minerals. This box is beautiful as it showcases how the two minerals co-exist so well together. There are even splashes of crystal-clear drusy Quartz among the swirls of color. Each side is book-matched and opens to reveal a polished black stone interior with a gold-plated piano hinge. The base of the box is a black stone with rubber feet attached.
