This elegant brooch is by Andrei Gorianov, a jeweler whose works were retailed by Fabergé. Gorianov, who took over Wilhelm Reimer's workshop in 1898, was known for his exceptional craftsmanship in gold-mounted objects and fine jewelry. His work for Fabergé included many pieces of small jewelry such as the current lot. The offered lot, of lobed oval design in the "garland' style, is set in silver backed with gold, and centers a pale blue sapphire of approximately 11.25 carats, surrounded by old-mine and rose-cut diamonds.
