    A French modernist painter, whose works have been characterized as "post-Cubist", Claude Venard began exhibiting his works in 1935. Like Harlequin, his works are known for their color and thickly-applied paint. Venard is represented in museums across the world, including the Tate Gallery in London and the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris. In Dallas, he exhibited and sold works through Valley House Gallery from 1953-62.
