    A major Russian modernist, Alexander Rodchenko became a leader of the Constructivist movement in the post-Revolution era. He rejected the conventional concept of art, denouncing easel painting and fine art, and becoming an exponent of Productivism in the fields of poster design, furniture, photography and film. Rodchenko produced a number of works on paper revealing his theoretical investigation of traditional artistic means such as color and geometric form.
