Ellen Frances Tuchman was born in Los Angeles, and now lives and works in Dallas. A finalist for the Hunting Art Prize in 2008, Tuchman was also featured in Catherine Anspon's book, "Texas Artists Today." Her work is included in public and corporate collections of DLA Piper LLP, Children's Medical Center, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the Metropolitan Museum of Art , and the Stoneleigh Hotel in Dallas. Tuchman's work incorporates both traditional paper crafts like quillwork and needlework with what she calls a "painterly focus." As a child, she says she "loved the Ice Capades and circus costumes. Spectacle. Color. General exuberance. A joy of surface." This exploration of color and detail is evident in her work, "Chuckles/Charms." This is Tuchman's third year participating in ART + ADVOCACY. Work is available locally at Ro2 Art, and she is represented by Koelsch Gallery, Houston.
