    Behzad painted Mother and Child on antique paper, which had been given to him by his friend and physician, Mohamed Dadkhah. Dr. Dadkhah was also a well-known philatelist in Tehran, and he had originally utilized this sheet of paper for his stamp collection. Residue from his stamps is visible in the background of the work.




    Condition Report*: Unmounted; not framed; residue and discoloration from stamp adhesive along the edges and in upper center; a few spots of dark discoloration, most notably one above the far right figure's head; folding creases to the upper and lower right corners; one surface scratch approximately 3/4 inches long to the center; pinholes to the upper center.
