    Two 19th-Century European Drawings: Contemplation and a Two-Sided Sheet of Hand Studies and a Woman, 1895

    Study of Hands and Portrait of a Woman (two-sided drawing)
    Pen and ink on blue-gray paper; charcoal and white chalk on blue-gray paper
    18-1/2 x 11-3/4 inches
    Signed and dated lower right: M. Hermann 1895

    Condition Report*: Pohle drawing French matted. It is torn vertically along left side not interfering with the image. Paper fragile owing to past contact with acidic housing. Herman drawing in very good condition.
