Ganes Creek Mine, Innoko Mining District
Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area
There is quite a zoomorphic shape to this Alaskan Gold nugget. The
golden "creature" has the form of an odd-looking reptilian with a
visible face, body, tail, and even an eye. Of course, the real
value in this piece is its weight in Gold, which is a substantial
84 grams (2.70 oz t). As any nugget more than a couple of troy
ounces is an inherent rarity, and this example offers a lot of
aesthetic characteristics; it is much more than just a plain mass
of Gold. Both of the smooth surfaces are stunning.
Measurements: 1.87 x 1.25 x 0.49 x inches (4.75 x 3.17 x 1.25
cm), weighs 84 grams (2.70 oz t)
