Nicknamed the "Gold Feather" for obvious reasons, this Gold Leaf in Quartz comes out of the renowned Round Mountain Mine in Nevada and features multiple Spinel Twin crystals. Discovered circa 2000 in an important mine operated by the Kinross Gold Company, the rare and beautiful crystals showcased on an extremely thin form are flashy, striated, fibrous, and metallic yellow in color. The delicate example has a weight of just 4 grams (0.13 oz t). Of course, the specimen value of such a unique form with some minor rocky whitish visible Quartz is well beyond that of its spot value in Gold.
