With its monumental scale and dynamic design, the Calla Lilly vase is one of the most iconic of the mold-blown or soufflé designs produced by Gallé following World War I. The vase was created by blowing the form into a mold and then cutting the design into the layers of glass with acid. This example features a rich color scheme of crimson blossoms emerging from oxblood leaves against a buttercream ground.
