Signed by the artist
Dan Dailey is a prominent artist in the history of glass. He earned his B.F.A. from the Philadelphia College of Art, his M.F.A from the Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied with Dale Chihuly, and founded the Glass Department at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. His works in glass and metal emphasize the human form, often presented in a unique and stylized manner,and drawn from a broad range of themes and influences. Dailey has worked with and lectured widely at many institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Rhode Island School of Design, and the Pilchuck Glass School, Washington, among others. His work has been exhibited widely and is represented in more than 50 international museum collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Corning Museum of Glass, New York; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas; and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C. Dailey is currently an Independent Designer with Venini Glass in Murano, Italy.
