    I Know What He Wants for Father's Day Out. I'm Going to Give Him Something to Wear, 1939
    Mixed media on board
    13 x 9 in.
    Signed lower right

    This jewel of a painting represents Petty at his finest, containing all the signature elements of his phone girls, posed in a beautifully elegant composition. It was printed in the Esquire Petty Girl Phone Book, a calendar and datebook, 1939.

    This painting was also reproduced as figure 572 in The Great American Pin-Up by Charles G. Martignette and Louis K. Meisel, Taschen, 1996.

    Condition Report*: Minor accretion along bottom right edge; otherwise in very good condition. Not examined outside of frame. Framed under glass to an overall size of 19.5 x 15 inches.
