    The scrapbook is approximately 147 pages whose contents include, but are not limited to:
    Handwritten romantic prose by William A. Rockefeller dated 29 May 1858;
    Handwritten letter from William A. Rockefeller to his son on Standard Oil Company stationery dated 21 June 1877;
    Two-page handwritten card in William A. Rockefeller's hand on the "Cabinet Collection Chinese and Japanese Curios... belonging to Wm Rockefeller Esq.";
    Handwritten certificated presented by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1881 to Mr. William Rockefeller in recognition of a gift of $1,000;
    Receipt from Parisian art dealer George Petit from 1881 for artwork;
    Other Rockefeller-owned correspondence about artworks with associated cabinet card photographs;
    Personal dinner folio of William Rockefeller on the occasion of Charles Lanier's 70th birthday;
    Calling card of William Tecumseh Sherman, General, 75 W 71st Street, New York;
    Handwritten letter in William A. Rockefeller's hand detailing mileage to various geographic features at his Rockwood Hall mansion in Tarrytown, NY;
    Handwritten pages in William A. Rockefeller's hand detailing horse rides from the "Private Trotting Park of Mr. Wm Rockefeller, Greenwich, Ct. 1882;
    Handwritten pages in William A. Rockefeller's hand detailing horse rides at Rockwood Hall, Tarrytown-on-Hudson;
    Other personal correspondence from various figures;
    Letter written to Master Willie Rockeferr dated 30 April 1881;
    September 1894 color brouchure of the passenger manifest from the Saloon vessel, American Line United States Mail Steamer, listing the Rockefeller family;
    Two Cunard Line menus from the RMS Campania dated October 15, 1911;
    Small logbook and personal diary in William A. Rockefeller's hand detailing ship voyages on the SS Mauretania, SS Lusitania, SS Germanic, SS Britannia, SS St. Paul, and others dating from 1877-1911;
    Abstract of Log of the R.M.S. Lusitania;
    White Star Line Saloon Passenger List of the Germanic, 1881;
    Cunard Line Passneger list of the Lusitania, 1909;
    Other American Line, Red Star Line, Cunard Line and other steamship emphemera and passenger manifests;
    A letter from Tiffany & Co about silver items which interested the Rockefellers: In answer to Mrs Rockefeller's inquiry we beg to say that the dinner and soup plates were the property of the late H.W.F. Blockon and before that of Prince Demidoff and one of the plates bears the following inscription "This plate was used by Her Majesty Queen Charlotte when on a visit to Colonel and Mrs. Hugh Baillie, at the house in Bristol 10 December 1817" and the hallmakrs are 1777-1806. Two square shaped waiters with nicked corners- 1778 were owned by Rt. Hon Lord Torphichen. Very respectfully, Tiffany & Co. 22 March 1894;
    Seven page memorial of Benjamin Franklin Tracy, inscribed by the author Frank H. Platt, to William Rockefeller;
    Dinner RSVP correspondence, including an invitation to meet Vice President-Elect Hon. Levi P. Morton and Gen. William T. Sherman, 1889;
    Various calling cards and clipped signatures including President Chester A. Arthur, President James A. Garfield, and others;
    Various newspaper and periodical clippings from the late 19th-early 20th centuries, including articles on legal troubles of Rockefeller.

    Guest log spanning 1938-1962, 30 pages with writing.


    Condition Report*: Log book cover exhibiting heavy wear and loose from spine, age-related toning to pages, some water damage to some pages, most elements adherred to scrapbook backing and/or with paper and adhesive residue to reverses, some with tearing/folding, some loose articles, with wear commensurate with age and mounting.
