    Gemstone: Turquoise - 82.42 Cts.
    Sleeping Beauty Peak
    Miami, Miami-Inspiration District
    Globe-Miami District, Gila Co.
    Arizona, USA

This highly collectible cabochon is coveted "Sleeping Beauty" Turquoise from the famous mine in Globe, Arizona, of the same name. A defining characteristic of the sought-after material from the esteemed locality is the classic "robin's egg" blue color that is so popular among both collectors and jewelers alike. The color is incredibly saturated and evenly distributed. This impressive oval shaped, low-domed cabochon exhibits the classic look of this material from the world-renowned mine with a beautiful teal-blue hue due to traces of Copper. The "cab" exhibits an expert polish all the way around with a rounded girdle. The backside of the cabochon is slightly domed, with slightly offset proportions only when viewed from the side, and has natural Limonite matrix cavities attesting to its legitimacy. The iconic "Sleeping Beauty" is generally considered one of the most important American Turquoise mines globally. The mine was one of the largest producers of Turquoise in the United States, if not the world, but closed in late 2012, having a noticeable impact on the Turquoise market. It is certainly significant that the "Sleeping Beauty" Mine is no longer producing. This hefty, American classic, weighing 82.42 carats, is in excellent condition and was most likely stabilized before it was cut into this attractive gemstone to prevent cracking. This stunning Turquoise cabochon is in excellent condition.
    Measurements: 36.57 x 27.27 x 11.04 mm, 82.42 cts.
