Kunzite is the most popular variety of the mineral Spodumene. This top-example gemstone features an expert cut and polish, which highlights the stone's beautiful lilac-pink hue. The body color is nicely saturated and well-balanced. The stone lights up with excellent scintillation and displays vivid brilliance. The oval shaped stone features modified brilliant facets. Due to the softer nature of the material, there is a nick on the pavilion and a few nicks along the girdle. Care is needed when handling this material, and it should be kept away from heat. Overall, this gorgeous gemstone is top-caliber. The sizable example from Afghanistan weighs in at over 82 carats and features the coveted pink hue that collectors admire.
