DescriptionVery Rare Gemstone: Jeremejevite - 1.41 Ct.
Mile 72, Skeleton Coast, Cape Cross Area
Jeremejevite is an extremely rare gemstone that has been found in very limited quantity at two Namibian localities. The classic find was at Mile 72 on the Skeleton Coast, and, more recently, in the mineral rich area of the Erongo Region - both of these remote locations in Namibia have only yielded an occasional crystal large enough and clean enough for faceting. The present rectangular example is beautifully faceted by master gem cutter Mike Gray of Coast-to-Coast Rare Gems, from rough discovered in 2003 at the Mile 72 location.
