DescriptionVery Fine Gemstone: Tanzanite - 32.39 Ct.
This fine example of Zoisite from Tanzania is large and striking. Tanzanites are noteworthy due to their renowned pleochroism, appearing as blue, violet and burgundy depending on crystal orientation and lighting. This gemstone is no exception to this trichroic phenomenon: it exhibits rich "Sapphire" blue, regal violet and fire red. The lab report states this fantastic gem is a blue-violet hue with a dark tone. It has very good proportions and strong saturation. It has a mixed cushion cut with a deep pavilion and is both eye-clean and transparent. Most importantly, there is no evidence of heat treatment supported by the presence of natural red flashes indicative of an unheated stone. The accompanying Universal Gemological Laboratory (UGL) lab report # 3283664 indicates no evidence of heat treatment to enhance the color. This gemstone is truly outstanding.
