Gemstones: Blue Topaz Parure - 262.98 TCW
    Brazil

Blue Topaz is prized for its hardness and its rich blue hue, which rivals even the best Aquamarines. This gorgeous set of 63 stones has been cut and presented as a parure: a matching combination of stones, such as a necklace, earrings, ring, tiara and bracelet. Each stone is an oval shape with a mixed cut, a modified brilliant crown and a step cut pavilion for the most scintillation and luster. The color is considered "Sky Blue" Topaz and is very pleasing to the eye. In addition, each stone displays nice transparency, is eye-clean and is in pristine condition. The largest stone in the set measures 18.00 x 13.17 x 9.40 mm and weighs 17.02 carats. The smallest stone measures 8.98 x 6.85 x 4.89 mm and weighs 2.27 carats. The gems have been somewhat allocated as such: 41 for a necklace, 13 for a bracelet (or tiara), 6 for a set of earrings and 3 for a ring or two studs. The benefit of buying unmounted stones is the flexibility to choose how the stones are ultimately set. Parures of this caliber are not common, and this "volume" option represents a significant value-based acquisition opportunity. It is amazing just how impressive unmounted stones can look when presented in a parure as is the case with this impeccable grouping of icy Blue Topaz gemstones. In the past, parures were prized by the Elite, and today this status symbol is making a comeback.
