Description
Gemstones: Benitoite - 3.57 TCWCalifornia State Gem Mine (Dallas Gem Mine; Benitoite Mine; Benitoite Gem Mine; Gem Mine)
Santa Rita Peak, New Idria Mining District
San Benito Co., California, USA
Benitoite in gemstone form is very rare due to the mineral's soft nature. Additionally, Benitoite crystals only come from one locality and usually only measure at most a couple of centimeters. This unique Lot includes 6 round Benitoite gemstones. When cut and faceted, this captivating mineral is known and coveted for having a higher dispersion than a Diamond as well as a rich, blue hue similar to Sapphire. This set displays a range of hues from moderately bluish-violet to more desaturated bluish-violet. The stones are all moderately included, with parallel growth lines, and a few have mild abrasions. Each stone displays strong dispersion, and the largest stone measures 5.11 x 3.4 mm. All exhibit nice proportions and balance making this offering even that much more enticing.
