Mined from a notable source-Tanzania, this fine red Zircon belongs to the rare and highly desirable color for the species. Cut and faceted into a classic round shape, the stone features fancy mixed-cut faceting-with brilliant facets on the crown, step-cut facets beneath the girdle, and a transition back to brilliant facets to the culet. This well-executed cutting technique creates mesmerizing scintillation and excellent brilliance. Exhibiting a red-orange/orange-red bodycolor, this Zircon is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The stone boasts an excellent polish, a sub-adamantine luster, and an impressive weight of 30.35 carats. Eye-clean and with very good proportions, the stone is in overall good condition with a few expected nicks to the facet junctions, as this variety can be prone to chipping. Rarely seen at auction, Zircons of this caliber are typically held in private collections, making this one extraordinary and significant offering.
