Description

Gemstone: Spinel - 11.07 Cts.
Unknown Locality

Long admired historically, yet only fully appreciated by collectors and gemologists in recent decades, Spinel has emerged as one of the most sought-after colored gemstones. Prized for its vivid natural hues, strong brilliance, durability, and typical lack of treatment, fine examples have gained increasing recognition within the gemstone market. This captivating 11.07-carat Spinel displays a richly saturated purplish pink bodycolor with pleasing balance and depth. Fashioned in a classic cushion shape, the stone features brilliant faceting across the crown paired with step-cut facets along the pavilion, creating very good brilliance enhanced by an excellent cut and polish. Large Spinels of this color are relatively uncommon, adding to the appeal of this example. The gemstone is moderately included, with a fingerprint visible through the table, a surface-reaching inclusion on the pavilion, and a few chips present at the culet; nonetheless, it remains in overall good condition. Untreated and vibrant in color, this sizable Spinel offers both collector interest and excellent potential as the centerpiece of a distinctive custom piece of wearable jewelry.
Measurements: 13.68 x 11.19 x 7.48 mm, 11.07 cts.
