Displaying a lovely pastel pink hue, this charming Pink Sapphire, mined from Madagascar, weighs a notable 1.57 carats. The chic elongated octagonal stone features classic step-cut faceting, with an overall very well-balanced pink bodycolor with purple undertones and excellent brilliance. Eye-clean and in good overall condition, the stone does exhibit very slight windowing and polish marks across many facets, which are more visible under the microscope and in photographs than to the unaided eye. There is one small cavity located on the corner of the girdle. The stone is accompanied by a GIA Report stating no indications of heat treatment, which is rare for Madagascar examples. Madagascar remains one of the most important modern sources of fine Corundum, and unheated examples in attractive pastel hues are increasingly sought after by discerning collectors and jewelers alike.
