    Durango, Mexico and Madagascar

This fine gemstone parcel consists of five Apatites of varying shape and color. Even though the word Apatite derives from the Greek word meaning "I am misleading," these gemstones are not! It includes an emerald cut green Apatite from Madagascar which weighs 9.04 carats, measures 13.2 x 10.2 mm and is only very slightly included and windowed. There is a yellow pear shaped Apatite, also from Madagascar, weighing 6.88 carats, which has a mixed brilliant crown with a Portuguese pavilion and is flawless. To add contrast in this Lot, there is a bright teal, greenish blue trillion Fluorapatite weighing 4.56 carats. This fine Madagascar gem has an excellent custom cut and polish, has been heat treated and measures 10.5 mm on a side. From the other side of the planet, there are two flawless Fluorapatite (Apatite ) gemstones from Durango, Mexico in the parcel: a beautiful 10.197 carat cushion cut, greenish yellow gem that measures 12.7 x 10.9 x 10.0 mm; and a 8.78 carat round brilliant cut, light yellow green gemstone that measures 12.8 mm in diameter. Don't be "deceived" by this parcel, it is truly a gem collectors dream. All the stones are in excellent condition.
    Total Carat Weight: 39.46 cts.
    Offered at no reserve.

Provenance: Fallbrook Gem & Mineral Society Gem Collection
