This spectacular round gemstone is a "Paraíba-Type" Tourmaline, meaning it is a Copper-bearing Tourmaline. This variety is highly sought after due to its greenish-blue hue created by the inclusion of trace amounts of Copper. This stone displays an incredible teal-blue color. The body color is very well-balanced and highly saturated. The round stone has been expertly cut to maximize color and features a modified brilliant cut. There are visible inclusions, which is common for the variety, but, overall, this substantial 5+ carat stone is in excellent condition. The gem is believed to be untreated, but additional in-depth testing is required before that can be an unenquivocal statement. This material is quite rare making this a top-notch example of the highly prized variety.
