Description
Gemstone: Kunzite - 753.60 Cts.Brazil
The first detail one notices about this Kunzite is the striking pinkish purple hue. The second attribute is the size; this behemoth gem weighs 753.6 carats! Kunzite is the pink variety of Spodumene, a highly collectible mineral prized for its iconic pink or violet hues, transparency, and size. Expertly cut into a nicely balanced, eye-clean oval shape with mixed-cut faceting, the facets mostly consist of step cuts with brilliant facets around the girdle for added flair. The extraordinary color is the result of trace amounts of Manganese and, likely, irradiation and heat, which is common for the variety and enhances the inherent beauty of the natural stone. The color is extremely saturated and well-balanced with additional depth of color as the stone displays flashes of pink, red, and orange when moved and viewed. Masterfully cut and polished, the stone exhibits nice scintillation and excellent brilliance. Out of a prominent corporate collection, the gem has been kept in a safe security box for decades and is now able to dazzle once again. This is undoubtedly a museum-quality gemstone and a real showstopper in good condition with a lot of dynamism and noteworthy color, poised to enhance any collection. Known as a 'nighttime stone,' care should be taken to avoid prolonged exposure to heat and bright light to preserve the gem's stunning appearance.
Measurements: 59.31 x 45.07 x 35.85 mm, 753.60 cts.
Provenance: Important Corporate Collection
