Description

Gemstone: Bicolor Tourmaline - 21.89 Cts.
Mozambique

Long, slender Elbaite Tourmaline crystals naturally form in pegmatite pockets, often yielding elongated emerald-cut gemstones, as seen in this exceptional Bicolor Tourmaline. Mined in Mozambique, this gem was naturally eroded from its pegmatite host rock and later recovered from an alluvial gravel deposit. Once extracted, it was expertly cut into a 21.89-carat stone to achieve a well-balanced appearance, beautifully showcasing its distinct bicolor zoning. One end of the stone is dominated by a rich strongly purplish red hue, transitioning seamlessly into a soft yellowish brown hue on the other. With an eye-clean clarity, the color contrast is truly striking. While a few minor nicks are present along some facet junctions, they do not detract from its overall beauty, and this stone is in overall great condition. This highly sought-after variety is prized by both jewelers and collectors, making it a standout addition to any fine gemstone collection or an exquisite choice for custom jewelry.
Measurements: 30.77 x 9.67 x 7.75 mm, 21.89 cts.
