Gemstone: Bicolor Tourmaline - 12.63 Cts.
Himalaya Mine (Himalaya dikes; Himalaya pegmatite)
Gem Hill, Mesa Grande District, San Diego Co.
    California, USA

This is an exquisite example of Bicolor Tourmaline. This incredible stone hails from one of THE most sought after localities in the USA: the Himalaya Mine in San Diego, California. This particular mine is world renowned for its Tourmaline specimens, especially of the pink variety, and for good reason. This grandiose 12.63 carat stone displays a mostly pink hue, but then naturally, and seamlessly, transitions into a light champagne yellow hue. The natural stone resembles a multi-hued graduated color spectrum that has been cut into a traditional emerald shape. Additionally, when viewed from different angles, the stone can appear to be a subtle peach hue due to the stone's "pleochroic" habit. This gem is only very slightly included, but, otherwise, is in pristine condition. Beautiful bicolor Tourmalines with this level of appeal, especially from a classic locality, are few and far between for sure.
    Measurements: 21.87 x 8.83 x 6.98 mm, 12.63 cts.
