DescriptionFINE GEMSTONE: SPINEL - 3.21 CT.
Possibly better known as a famous locality for Rubies, Burma also happens to produce world class Spinel. This fine example is a round brilliant with a star cut pavilion and brilliant crown. This eye clean gem shows intense, saturated red color, yet it still exhibits outstanding brilliance - a perfect example of why Spinel has historically been mistaken for Ruby. Edward the Black Princes' Ruby, in England's Crown Jewels is a magnificent red Spinel, not the true Ruby it looks to be.
Measurements: 9.3 mm, 3.21 cts.
