DescriptionFine Gemstone: Garnet - 85.08 Ct.

Gem quality Almandine Garnet, faceted in an exceptionally large size such as this 85+ carat oval cut example, are very rare and highly desirable in any collection. The fact that it is eye clean makes it even more sought after. This gemstone was found in the rough in 1966. It was subsequently faceted by Tony Mittelmeyer of Cape Town, South Africa into a Ceylon cut with a brilliant cut crown and step cut pavilion. This stone is in excellent condition and should be admired.
