This rare set features two sections from a natural Corundum crystal exhibiting the extraordinary Trapiche effect-an uncommon and visually arresting growth pattern seen in select Sapphires from Myanmar. Unlike the optical phenomenon of asterism found in traditional Star Sapphires, the Trapiche pattern arises from distinct color zoning along the hexagonal crystal axis, creating a fixed six-rayed spoke-like formation visible in cross-section. Displaying a rich royal blue hue, both crystal segments reveal this highly sought-after pattern with exceptional clarity and symmetry. Although not cut consecutively, each section highlights the radial zoning structure that distinguishes true Trapiche Sapphires from other varieties. The larger end cut weighs 17.23 grams and measures 29.3 x 25.4 x 15.1 mm; the smaller weighs 7.00 grams and measures 19.97 x 17.1 x 9.2 mm. This offering represents a significant mineralogical rarity and a captivating addition to any fine gem or crystal collection.
