    Description

RARE GEMSTONE: TRAPICHE EMERALD (MATCHED PAIR) - 14.33 TCW.
    Muzo, Colombia

This extremely rare pair of Trapiche Emeralds is from the only known world locality: Colombia. "Trapiche" is Spanish for the spoked wheel used to grind sugar cane and references the pattern in these emeralds. These patterned gemstones have an unmistakable six-point radial configuration created by dark carbon impurities, emanating from a hexagonal center. There is a total carat weight of 14.33, and these matched gemstones are well cut and well-polished cabochons that highlight the unique patterning. The color is a bright and vivid dark green with excellent luster. Trapiche Emeralds are valued based on saturated even color, clarity, size, completeness and centering of the "rays." This fine pair meets all the previously stated criteria. They are in excellent condition.
    Measurements: 15.0 mm, 14.33 tcw.
    Offered at no reserve.
