    Gemstone: Turquoise - 56.41 Cts.
    Sleeping Beauty Peak
    Miami, Miami-Inspiration District
    Globe-Miami District, Gila Co.
    Arizona, USA

This massive 56+ carat trapezoid cabochon has been hewn out of classic "Sleeping Beauty" Turquoise. The "robin-egg" color is distinctive and prized. Additionally, it is the purity of the material that makes it so coveted. As opposed to most other varieties of Turquoise, "Sleeping Beauty" has minimal "veining" and webbing making it ideal for use in making jewelry as it is also often stable enough to be polished and used in jewelry without requiring treatment or stabilization. The cabochon features a 360-degree polish, a flat cut bottom and interesting gold matrix on the bottom. This cabochon and Lot #72115 are both from the world-renowned American locality. This large example is in excellent condition and should not be overlooked as the mine is no longer producing this wonderful material.
    Measurements: 28.42 x 22.18 x 13.52 mm, 56.41 cts.

    Provenance: The Jena Blue Collection
