Sapphires aren't the only things that can show asterism. Many minerals, including Garnets, can do so under the right growth conditions. In India, such conditions resulted in the low dome, round cabochon of this lot. A six-rayed star graces the interior of a dark "button" of Garnet showing the color of Concord grape juice: a winey purple. The star is centered, uniform, and the polish is excellent.
Measurements: 24.20 x 23.90 x 9.85 mm, 66.87 ct.
