A Louis XVI-Style Mahogany and Maple Bonheur du Jour with Gilt Bronze and Porcelain Mounts, 19th century

The cabinet in two-piece configuration, removable top case with gilt bronze gallery gating, Mansard-style roof panels of curly maple surrounded by banded inlay and mahogany trim, central open mirrored compartment framed by porcelain and bronze mounted arch, flanked by locking compartment affixed with bronze mounts and porcelain portraiture, edges with solider mounts on spiral plinths, lower top surface with curly maple inlaid panel, string banding of mahogany with inlaid bone floral rosettes to edges, lower apron with helix shaped bronze and porcelain mount banding concealing desk drawer with black leather and gilt writing surface, lower region with two open shelves having gilt bronze trim, raised on tapering conical feet.
